Two Pillows and a Blender

This post was inspired by a conversation I had with my cousin in Guildford.  We were discussing our upcoming travel plans and I mentioned with excitement how I could hardly wait until we had our own little car and I could purchase some items.  Important to us for the next few months is a good pillow of our own and a blender to make our trusty breakfast smoothies.  Hence the post name.

Being home free means being constantly on the move, sleeping in someone else’s bed and cooking in someone else’s kitchen.  To make this life a little easier some personal comforts go a long way.  For us, the above two items fit the bill.  I know we will have to donate these items at the end of our 5 months, but it is worth it to have them even for this short time.

We picked up our trusty little blue car, Dory, in Paris, and one of our first tasks after arriving in Bonne was to search for a place to purchase these items.  Annemasse is a larger town 15 minutes away and there we found a shopping mall with a large Walmart type store, everything but the kitchen sink!!  We were successful in finding an inexpensive blender, pillows, pillow cases and a top sheet for the bed.  In Europe nobody uses top sheets we have found, just a comforter cover and fitted bottom sheet.  These items will make life on the road just a little bit more enjoyable.  Dory will be full to the rooftop if we are not careful 🙂

One’s own special pillow makes such a difference! Definitely a good purchase. Hope Dory is behaving!
