Leaving Granada our travel time to Estepona was only 2 hours so we took some detours along the way to visit a few of the top rated pubelos blancos (white villages). Our first detour took an hour driving on a road clinging to the mountainside, climbing ever higher in the Sierra Nevada’s where 3 white villages are located one after the other. Read more
Our drive from Valencia to Granada took us just over 5 hours and once again we passed miles and miles of orange groves and olive groves. Heading inland and with increasing elevations the landscape became dry and desert looking with cactus growing along the roadside. Read more
Leaving Barcelona late morning on December 24th the drive was a pleasant 3.5 hour journey past mile upon mile of orange groves to the outskirts of Valencia, Spain’s third largest city. Valencia’s port is the busiest container port in the Mediterranean and was visible for miles as we drove South along the coast. Read more
