February…Florida…Friends

Sunset over Pine Island, Florida

February has been a busy month with more than average socializing, which was to be expected when we planned to catch up with a number of friends who now live in Florida either part time or full time.  We moved to Gary and Barb’s house on January 31st and are here until Febuary 17th when we move to Sarasota to stay with another friend Deb. More Medical Stuff and Sightseeing

We did not wish to say anything until the dust settled on this most recent round of events.  Blair had cataract surgery on both eyes during the past couple of weeks.  In a fortuitous event, Blair met one of the top cataract surgeons in the US a few months ago.  The Dr was on Blair’s dive boat and when Blair found out what he did, proceeded to ask a number of questions, which resulted in the Dr suggesting Blair come and see him once we arrived in Florida. A New Year, A New Life

Sad to leave this wonderful little island.

For The Last Time

These four words seem to be the theme of our last few weeks in Grand Cayman.  Each time we do something we comment this is “for the last time”

Christmas Eve, looking West along our beach

Meeting New Friends

A few months ago we realized that a couple of fellow nomadic travelers, who we have become internet friends with, would be stopping by Grand Cayman on a cruise as they headed to Chile.  Eagerly we made plans to meet in person and yesterday was the day.  Jess and Tom arrived in Grand Cayman where we picked them up at the cruise ship terminal and drove to the Yacht Club for lunch at Morgan’s Restaurant.  The time flew by as we exchanged stories and they asked about our upcoming travel plans.  Jess and Tom have been full time nomads for the past 5 years and their blog has been a wonderful source of information as we were planning to become home free.

You can read their blog post and “interview” with us at the link below:
